Emergency Food & Shelter

Emergency Food & Shelter

Timely help for those in need.

Simple hospitality is sometimes the first step.

For the hundreds of hungry, homeless and hurting in Jacksonville, help starts with a hot meal and a warm bed in our Emergency Services program — the first step toward a fresh start.

Every day, 365 days a year, hundreds of men, women, and children in Jacksonville find themselves at Trinity Rescue Mission seeking a safe place to eat a meal and get some rest. Meeting this most basic human need is often the first step to helping them get back on their feet.

Having a safe place to sleep, and protection from the winter cold and summer heat, is vital. Our emergency shelter provides sleeping accommodations for up to 70 homeless men and a flexible capacity of up to 273 for homeless women and children depending on our Lifeline Program for Women capacity.

Emergency Services Include:

  • Shelter
  • Hot meals
  • Showers
  • Clean clothing
  • Toiletry/hygiene items
  • Counseling

More than a Meal, More than a Bed

Our Emergency Services Team at Trinity Rescue Mission provides more than hospitality for our emergency services guests. They also offer emergency services case management to steer persons to Trinity Rescue Mission programs or other life changing programs in the community which can help them permanently end homelessness.

Sometimes, all a person wants is food or a place to stay. Others may want prayer or spiritual encouragement. Still others may be ready to try something new and life changing. In the love and grace of Jesus Christ, we welcome them all and offer help.
